Takaki Kobayashi is a Managing Director at Nomura Greentech and Head of Nomura Greentech, Japan.

Based in Tokyo, Takaki has over 20 years of experience in Japan investment banking. Throughout his career he has advised a wide range of clients on a range of M&A and capital markets assignments with especially an established background in cross border M&A having spent over 18 years abroad.

His transaction experience includes advising Chubu Electric on the formation of JERA, advising Mitsui on its €575mn investment in Mainstream Renewable Power, advising X-ELIO on its divestment of its Japan solar portfolio, advising Iberdrola in its investment into Acacia Renewables, advising Sumitomo Corporation on its acquisition of Q-Park Nordics, advising Toray on its acquisition of TenCate Advanced Composites and advising Teijin on its acquisition of Continental Structural Plastics

Takaki has spent his whole career in investment banking at Nomura including spending 6 years in Nomura Greentech, EMEA. Takaki holds an MBA from Wharton and graduated from Tokyo University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
