Alex Stein is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Nomura Greentech, EMEA.

Based in Zurich, Alex has more than a decade of experience providing corporate finance and M&A advisory services to leading organizations solving today’s energy and resources challenges.

Alex focuses on how decarbonization, digitalization, and business model innovation is driving disruption across a range of sectors including Energy, Industry and Transport. Alex works with companies and investors across the spectrum of sustainability, from innovators to incumbents and from growth equity to infrastructure.

His recent transaction experience includes advising Enel on its 50% sale of Gridspertise, a smart grid technology and solutions subsidiary, to CVC; advising Gridserve, the UK’s leading independent developer of sun-to-wheel EV charging infrastructure, on its growth equity financing from Infracapital; advising Next Kraftwerke, Germany’s leading independent Virtual Power Plant operator, on its sale to Shell Energy; and advising OVO Energy, one of the UK’s leading independent energy supply and services companies on its acquisition of SSE Energy Services and its growth equity financing from Mitsubishi Corporation.

Alex joined Nomura Greentech in 2010 in New York and transitioned to Zurich in 2012.
