What sector do you cover as an Associate on the team?

I primarily cover Energy Technology and Services as the Lead Sector Associate. I also cover Water, Environmental Services and Technologies.

How would you describe the culture of the firm?

The culture at our firm is very open and entrepreneurial. As an Associate, I am encouraged to drive outcomes on deal execution, client relationship management and business development. I am also fortunate enough to be mentored by some of the experts in the sustainable technologies. We enjoy access to our senior MDs and officers, who are easily approachable and genuinely invested and interested in our professional development.

I have personally reached out to Duncan Williams, Global Co-Head of Nomura Greentech multiple times and feel that his mentorship has played a critical role in my growth as a banker over the last couple of years.

In addition, there is a strong sense of camaraderie among the juniors which makes for effective teamwork and supportive work environment.

What’s the best aspect of working at Nomura Greentech?

For me the best aspect of working at Nomura Greentech has been people who are extremely passionate about climate action – be it my colleagues or my clients. Every day I come to work and appreciate that I am working with leaders in the field including visionary CEOs and business leaders who are dedicating their lives to solving the climate crisis and it is very inspiring.

What are your aspirations for the future?

I came to graduate school with the purpose that I want to spend my life working towards advancing capital flow to sustainability which in turn helps grow innovative businesses that are combating climate change. My goal in life remains steadfast – I want to enable the growth of next gen businesses that are advancing climate action. I am specifically interested in making sure that startups have the capital to survive through the valley of death and scale quickly. Nomura Greentech has enabled me to work towards this goal on a daily basis.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

I love to cook, read books, go for hikes and explore the Bay Area. I have also recently taken up sailing and try to get out on the water whenever I can.
